Transforming Lives

One of our plans this year with Sunday Worship is to have four series focusing upon each of our four mission intentions; Transforming Lives, Caring for People, Making Disciples, Reforming Society.

Starting this Sunday and continuing through to Easter we will be thinking about Transforming Lives . You might want to take some time to read the familiar story of Luke 15:11-32 in preparation for this Sunday as we consider the fact that in our lostness we can find transformation through the love of God.

As Salvos God calls us to a work of transformation, working for change in the lives of those around us. Let's take our mission seriously.

Don't forget our special Hearts for Haiti fundraiser next Sunday (21st March) at 2:30pm. It will be a great afternoon of music featuring our own Box Hill Citadel Band with special guests Box Hill City Band and Blackburn High School Concert Choir. All proceeds will go direct to Salvation Army relief work in Haiti.

And whilst we are thinking about Transforming Lives of those in other lands, then don't forget our Self Denial Missionary Appeal Altar Service on Sunday 28th March. As Australians on a global scale we are extremely lucky and live a lifestyle only enjoyed by the most privileged in our world. Let us deny self, make a sacrifice, set aside at least a week’s income for this missionary appeal and really transform some lives in practical and spiritual ways around the world. Check out the Self Denial website for more information.

As Christians God makes it clear time and time again that it was never meant to be just about us. We are followers of a God who brings about transformation and as such we become people who work for transformation. Let’s make a difference across the world - and right here amongst our own friends and neighbours.

Box Hill Salvos - Transforming Lives .

Yours in deep faith and deep mission!

See you Sunday,

Gregory
